Obafemi Awolowo University Students VS Tuition Fees Hike, The Ooni of Ife Intervenes.

Reports reaching us that there is a tensed atmosphere between the students of Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Ile-Ife, Osun State Proudly known as the "Oba Awon University" and the management over the hike in the tuition.
The student were outrage at the sudden hike in School fees which was said to be between 5,800naira and 12,500 initially but now 70,000 excluding the 20,000 acceptance fees for the incoming Freshers of 2013/2014 Session. A peaceful protest was staged which led to the blockage of Federal and local roads as the Students marched off to the Palace.

The Ooni of Ife, Oba sijuade who was represented the High Chief Lowa, the Adimula of Ife, his second in command, addressed the students during a visit to the Palace with Placards, condemned the increment and said "The Ooni will do something and within the next 24 hours, the fee will be reversed" He also agreed with the demands of the students, made a promise to persuade the School Management to reverse the Hike.
