10 Amazing Tips! Baking Soda As A Beauty Product

We all have baking soda at home and use it to prepare food. Most of us know how good it is at whitening laundry. It also perfectly well eliminates unpleasant smell in your closet and refreshes carpets and is excellent at cleaning various surfaces.
What else is baking soda good for? It can be use to make you look more attractive!
1. Fighting Acne
Baking soda can be effectively used to solve the acne problem. It is a safe and effective measure that helps get rid of pimples. Prepare a paste and use it to dry the blemishes.
 2. Teeth Whitening
Take any toothpaste tube and see what most brands include in the content. That’s right – baking soda. If combined with peroxide it provides a whitening effect. Use it instead of toothpaste. The only drawback is that if it is used too often it can damage your enamel. If used once a week, it is harmless and perfectly removes stains and plaques without wearing enamel away.
 3. Breath Freshening
Breath dragees do not solve the problem? They merely hide it while baking soda fights and eliminates odors. Add a teaspoon of baking soda into a glass of water, mix it and then use it to wash you mouth. Gargle the liquid to disinfect your throat and the root of the tongue – this is where most bacteria accumulate. Finally, spit the mixture and enjoy fresh breath again.
4. Skin Softening
If your hands are rough and dry, again, use baking soda -  the quickest ways to soften your skin. Mix a bit of soda with water and soap and thoroughly massage your hands. Rinse your hands with lukewarm water. This method also fights deep down odors that stay after preparing meals.
 5. Hair Clarifying
Not all shampoos and hair conditioners are as good as we would like them to be. Some hair products contain chemicals that our hair does not need at all. To remove them from your hair and scalp, use baking soda. Avoid frequent use because the PH level of soda is very high. The procedure can be safely performed once a month. Some use vinegar for the same purpose, but the difference is that soda does not leave any unpleasant odor.
 6. Body Soaking
Next time you decide to take a bath, add a small cup of baking soda into your tub. Soaking in such water will help you neutralize acids that cause unpleasant body odors and make your skin less oily. What you get as a result is soft, glowing skin.
 7. Brush Cleaning
Baking soda has been used to wash dishes and clean oil and grease. Use it now to clean your makeup tools, such as brushes, sponges, applicators. Mix one full teaspoon of soda in a glass of water, soak your applicators in the mixture. Rinse them with clean water and let them dry.
8. Nail Cleaning
Another beauty tip is that you can use three parts of baking soda and one part of water to prepare soda paste that you can apply when you perform manicure or pedicure. Massage your feet, hands and nails with the paste, then rinse it. Soda polishes and softens cuticles, cleans under nails, eliminates odors and softens the skin of your feet and hands.
 9. Antiperspirant
Make your own home-made fragrant antiperspirant. It will contain only natural ingredients that are harmless to your skin. Add a few drops of essential oil into 4 tablespoons of soda and apply the mixture under your arms. Such a deodorant provides a sense of cleanliness and freshness for a few hours. Reapply it later in the day if need be.

Untested Drugs Can Be Used ToTreat Patients Infected With The Ebola Virus-WHO

Untested drugs can be used to treat patients infected with the Ebola virus, the World Health Organization says.
The WHO said it was ethical in light of the scale of the outbreak and high number of deaths - over 1,000 people have died in west Africa..
The statement was made after its medical experts met in Switzerland on Monday to discuss the issue.
The move came as Liberia said it was getting an experimental drug, Zmapp, after requests to the US government.
The WHO said where experimental treatments are used there must be informed consent and the results of the treatment collected and shared.
In a statement, it said: "In the particular circumstances of this outbreak, and provided certain conditions are met, the panel reached consensus that it is ethical to offer unproven interventions with as yet unknown efficacy and adverse effects, as potential treatment or prevention."
Last week the WHO declared the Ebola outbreak was a global health emergency.
What drugs exist currently ?
There a handful of drugs that have been shown to work well in animals.
One is Zmapp - the drug requested by the Liberian government. This contains a cocktail of antibodies which attack proteins on the surface of the virus.
Only one experimental drug has moved into early human testing. Known as TKM-Ebola this interrupts the genetic code of the virus and prevents it from making disease causing proteins.
The drug was tested on healthy human volunteers at the beginning of 2014 but the American medicines regulator asked for further safety information. The drug company says human trials may soon resume.
Vaccines to protect against acquiring the disease have also been shown to work in primates. American authorities are considering fast-tracking their development and say they could be in use in 2016.
But experts say ultimately the only way to be sure a drug or vaccine is effective is to see if it works in countries affected by Ebola.
line
There is no cure for Ebola, which has infected at least 1,779 people since the outbreak was first reported in Guinea in February.
'Hard place' The Liberian government said it was aware of the risks associated with Zmapp, but the alternative was to allow many more people to die.
"The alternative for not testing this is death, a certain death," Information Minister Lewis Brown told the BBC.
"This is not even the rock and the hard place for us.
"We think those who have been infected should be given the chance to have that tested on them if they give their consent to do so.
"We know there may be risks associated with it," the minister added, "but choosing a risk and choosing dying I am sure many would prefer to see that risk happen".
Ebola's initial flu-like symptoms can lead to external haemorrhaging from areas like eyes and gums, and internal bleeding which can lead to organ failure. Patients have a better chance of survival if they receive early Treatment.

Must Read! 10 Easy Ways to Flatten Your Belly!

Wouldn't it be wonderful if you could watch your belly disappear? Here are ten easy ways that you can flatten your belly every day--from simple tips that you can incorporate into your daily life to belly busting moves that you can do at home. Follow these 10 suggestions and watch your belly disappear.
1. Eat a bowl of raspberries. Packed with fiber, they fight constipation (that can swell your midsection like a balloon).

2. Drink lots of water.
It's filling, calorie-free, and keeps your metabolism running in high gear.
3. Skip the cocktails. Sure, alcohol may be fat-free, but it's loaded with calories. It can also raise your levels of cortisol, a stress hormone that helps your belly store fat.

4. Sit up straight.
Hunching forward makes your belly look bigger. For a slimming effect that actually trains the stomach-supporting muscles to stay taut, sit with your shoulders back, chin up, and lower back supported against the chair.
5. Plant a garden. All the bending, lifting, and twisting help shape your middle, and you'll burn about 350 calories an hour.
6. Moving your hips. Hula hooping works on the same calorie burning waist-whittling principle as gardening--but with less dirt.
7. Hit the greens. Ditching the golf cart earns you a walking workout; whacking the ball tones and tightens your midriff.
8. Get a leg up. Crunches with your legs off the floor tone the upper portion of your ab muscles. Lie on your back with your legs propped up on the bed or chair. Curl up slowly, raising your head, shoulders, and upper back off the floor, then slowly lower. Do 10 to 12 repetitions, two to three times a week.

9. Reverse that crunch.
To tighten your tummy from a different angle, lie on the floor with your arms at your sides, feet off the floor, and your legs and knees bent at a 90-degree angle. Contract your abdominals and press your back into the floor, lifting your hips about 2 to 4 inches off the floor. Hold, then lower. Do 10 to 12 repetitions, two or three times a week.
10. Do crossover crunches. To work the muscles that define your waistline (the obliques), lie on your back with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor. Place your right ankle on your left knee and your hands behind your head, elbows pointing out. Lifting your head and upper back off the floor, twist, and bring your left shoulder toward your right knee. Hold, then slowly lower. Do 10 to 12 repetitions, then repeat to the other side. Do two or three times a week.

Watch It! The Most Common 8 Things That Causes Cancer!

1-Scientists believe that we have control over cancers and diseases simply by controlling our lifestyle a bit better. Always be aware of what your doing such as not smoking, what your eating on a daily basis and what you can do to protect your skin. Always be aware of your surroundings and take the following 8 tips on staying healthy and cancer free.

2-Your wondering what this is? Every time you drink out of plastic bottles your getting Bisphenol A, commonly known as BPA, a compound that is a toxic substance. in Canada but in the United States not so much. What will it do? BPA is an endocrine disruptor that can mimic the body's own hormones, leading to negative health effects so avoid plastic product with BPA containing in them and try to stay away from canned foods with BPA in them as well.
3-With these new day and age, there are more and more vegans in this world and they head straight for soy products, but not so fast..Soy contains phytoestrogens, a group of chemicals that mimic the hormone estrogen, and this is ok for women but not so much for men. Some experts are concerned that an excess of soy will stimulate the growth of estrogen-sensitive cancers since high exposures of estrogen over a woman's lifetime are linked with an increased risk for breast cancer. If you enjoy soy, you may still have it but just have it in moderation and cut down a little.
4-There are many negative effects on Artificial Sweeteners such as Aspartame Sucralose and saccharin. Many argue that they are human carcinogens, causing bladder, colon, breast and prostate cancer, while others argue that there is no concrete evidence to prove this. The best bet is to just stick to natural sweeteners like maple syrup, honey or even brown sugar.
5- All the synthetic ingredients that are in your beauty products can heighten the risk of cancer. Coal tar is found in hair dye and has been shown to be linked with bladder cancer. Alpha Hydrox acids is the main ingredient for removing wrinkles and blemishes have been shown to increase skin cancer. Phthalates, industrial plasticizers widely used in personal care products to moisturize and soften skin also shown to have birth defects and lifelong reproductive impairments. You have to be careful when putting this stuff all over your face and body all the time because over the years, these toxins will add up.
6- Studies show that scented laundry detergents release carcinogens, potentially raising the risk of cancer. The best thing you can do is get unscented and all natural products.
7- All processed meat contains cancer causing nitrites, doesn't matter if its hot dogs or burgers. According to CancerProject.org, eating 50 grams of processed meat per day (about one hot dog) increases your risk of colorectal cancer, on average, by 21 percent. Maybe save these meats for a special occasion if need be and stay away from the daily eating.
8- Watching TV here and there will not have major negative effects on the body but making it your life will. Exposure to TV screens affects the melatonin levels of younger children, in particular at the onset of puberty. Having reduced levels of melatonin can cause mutations in your DNA and even cause cancer cells to grow.

The Unbelieveable And Amazing Benefits Of Bananas.

Yemisi Olowookere, a dietician at the Garki Hospital, Abuja says  consumption of banana is ideal for the maintenance of normal blood pressure and heart function.
She said that bananas were the best source of potassium, an essential mineral for maintaining normal blood pressure and heart function.
According to her, a medium sized banana provides 350g of potassium which helps the body to maintain normal fluid and electrolyte balances in the cells.
“Bananas help restore normal bowel activity, rich in non digestible fibres, help with constipation and diarrhoea and normalise the colon’s function to absorb large amounts of water for regular bowel movements.
“Bananas have long been recognised for their antacid effects that protect against stomach ulcers and ulcer damage. They help to neutralise acidity, a great way to get rid of heart burn.
“Bananas are a perfect baby food. They are the best solid food to introduce to infants. A mashed ripe banana is an extremely simple and healthy baby food,’’ she said.
Olowookere explained that bananas were easy to digest and rarely cause allergic reactions and could be recommended for children recovering from gastrointestinal problems particularly diarrhoea.
According to her, the dietary fibre component in banana pulp has cholesterol-lowering effect and also promotes an overall improvement of the functional efficiency of kidneys.
“The benefits that the kidneys derive from bananas are due to the high potassium content present in it.
“A normal intake of potassium suppresses calcium excretion in the urine and minimises the kidney stone.’’
She said that bananas were known to calm an upset stomach and help rehydrate the body.
Olowookere said that bananas contained 25 per cent of Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) for vitamin B6 necessary for producing antibodies, red blood cells and aiding in the metabolism of fat.
She added that the Vitamin B6 present in banana serves as an immunity booster.
Olowookere said bananas contained tryptophan, a type of protein that converts into serotonin known to make one relax, improve one’s mood and generally make one feels happier.
She also said that bananas could stimulate the production of haemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anaemia.
“Bananas make you smarter and help with learning by making one more alert. Eat a banana before an exam to benefit from the high levels of potassium,’’ said Olowookere. (NAN)

Report Shows Gonorrhea, Syphilis Increasing In The US.

More and more people are developing gonorrhea and syphilis in the U.S., according to a new government report examining cases of three sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). The report, released Wednesday (Jan. 8) by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, shows that there were 334,826 cases of gonorrhea reported in 2012, which is a 4.1 percent increase from 2011. Gonorrhea is caused by a bacteria called Neisseria gonorrhea, which grows in warm and moist parts of the body (including in a woman's reproductive tract). Gonorrhea is treated with antibiotics, though the CDC noted that antibiotic resistance is becoming a growing concern. "With increased resistance to the fluoroquinolones and the declining susceptibility to cefixime, dual therapy with ceftriaxone and either azithromycin or doxycycline is now the only CDC recommended treatment for gonorrhea," according to the report. "Continued monitoring of susceptibility patterns to these antibiotics is critical." There were 15,667 cases of primary and secondary syphilis (the first two stages of syphilis) in 2012. The rate of primary and secondary syphilis increased 11.1 percent since 2011, with most cases accounting for the increase occurring in gay and bisexual men. Syphilis is also caused by a bacteria, called Treponema palladium. Fortunately, the rate of congenital congenital syphilis (when an infected mother passes the disease on to her offspring) decreased from 2011 to 2012 by 10 percent. Meanwhile, the chlamydia rate remained largely the same between 2011 and 2012, increasing by only 0.7 percent. There were 1,422,976 cases of chlamydia reported in 2012. Chlamydia is caused by the Chlamydia trachomatis bacteria.
