Miss Nigeria Queen Celestine wins Miss Congeniality Award.

The Miss Congeniality has been won by Miss Nigeria Queen Celestine after being voted by her peers from Eighty-eight countries round the universe. This is the only award voted on by the delegates themselves.
People who have the quality of congeniality have a gift for getting along with others. They are warm, friendly, and probably well-suited to serve on welcoming committees

The Miss Universe 2015 Pageant took place on Sunday, January 25, at the Florida International University Arena, Doral, Miami, Florida.
With the stakes high in this year’s Miss Universe, the world waits for the newly crowned winner. The beautiful girls are now in the final rounds of the competition and tonight the winners will be announced.

Dissecting Bishop Oyedepo’s Support For GEJ And Sambo’s Anti-christ Outburst Against Churches.

Dissecting Bishop Oyedepo’s Support For GEJ And Sambo’s Anti-christ Outburst Against Churches And Pastor Osinbajo At The Jigawa State PDP Presidential Rally By Bunmi Awoyemi I was shocked when a man of God, Bishop David Oyedepo who I respect so much said in his church some days ago that his members should slaughter any one that looks like a terrorist.

Bishop David Oyedepo While I am 100% in support of self defense, I abhor tribal profiling and targeting. When this happens, innocent lives are bound to be lost. Then in the 3rd service of his Church on Sunday, January 25, 2015, attended by President Jonathan, my dear Bishop Oyedepo said in a comment directed at President Jonathan “We will open the gates of hell on those who oppose you. When God enthrones you no one can dethrone you”
My Bishop’s support of Jonathan is anchored on the false premise that Buhari is planning to Islamize Nigeria. Nothing could be further from the truth. IBB not Buhari registered Nigeria as a member of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC). IBB, Abacha and Abdusalami Abubakar attended OIC meetings. No President of Nigeria has attended OIC meetings in the last 15 years until President Jonathan attended an OIC meeting in late 2014. Buhari never attended any OIC meeting and refused to join the OIC even though he was a military Head of State possessing immense powers. How can the same Buhari now Islamize Nigeria in a democratic setting which has the checks and balances of the National Assembly and the Judiciary?
Is my Bishop aware of what happened a few days ago? At the Presidential campaign rally of GEJ/Sambo in Jigawa state on January 21st, 2015, in the presence of President Jonathan, Vice President Namadi Sambo stated in Hausa : “Buhari ya dauko pastor a matsayin mataimakinsa kunsan coci nawa yake dashi? Yanada coci 5000, don haka karku zabesu. The translation is – “Buhari has selected a pastor as his running mate, do you know how many churches he has? He has 5000 churches, so based on that, don’t vote for them”.
My Bishop, Sambo used religious sentiments in his attempt to divide the country and incite Muslims against Christians. Sambo also said at the rally that the PDP is the most Islamic Party in Nigeria because nobody can be more Muslim than him. He said that his name is Namadi which is a derivative of Namadina, meaning someone from the Medina in Saudi Arabia. At the Rally in Jigawa State Sambo also stated that he goes for the Hajj every year.
My dear Bishop, in Sambo’s determination to whip up religious sentiments and divisions, he stated at the Jigawa state rally that all the security chiefs in the Jonathan administration are Muslims and based on that, those alleging that Jonathan is supportive of Boko Haram are not being fair. He mentioned the names of some key ministers in the Jonathan administration including Defence Minister, Aliyu Gusau, NSA, Sambo Dasuki, Inspector General of Police, Abba whom he emphasized are all Muslims. He also mentioned all the Muslim ministers from Kano, including Aminu Wali, Foreign Affairs Minister and Shekarau, Minister of Education.
Bishop, Sambo then asked if anyone could claim to be more Muslim than him Namadi Sambo. Then he shouted Allahu Akbar (Allah is great several times). To close his speech he recited the AlFatiha, (The Opening, the first seven verses of the Holy Quran, which for Muslims is the Mother of the Book, highly revered by all).
My dear Bishop, Sambo’s outburst against Christians and Pastor Osinbajo would not surprise close watchers of political events in Nigeria but it does reconfirm the outcome of late General Azazi thorough and extensive investigation of Boko Haram and in which he concluded that the PDP founded Boko Haram and finances its terrorist activities.
MY ADVISE TO CHRISTIANS WHO RESPECT BISHOP OYEDEPO
To Christians like me who hold Bishop Oyedepo in great esteem this is my advise to you;
Don’t let any pastor tell you who to vote for. Does Bishop Oyedepo experience the effects of misgovernance? Bishop is on 24-hr power generators and he does not even know when there is power outage. You bear the brunt of misgovernance daily and you should know that voting GEJ is a guarantee of another 4 years of no electricity, corruption galore and insurgency that will claim more lives and disintegrate Nigeria. Vote based on what you know not on religious or tribal sentiments!
Currently, 70% of the territory of states like Borno, Yobe and Adamawa are under the firm control of Boko Haram. This is the first time this is happening in Nigeria. Boko Haram bombing and genocide has targeted both Christians and Muslims, churches, mosques and schools attended by both Christians and Muslims. Because of Boko Haram’s control of about 5% of Nigeria’s territory, Nigeria’s map has been redrawn.
When a bomb goes off in a market place it does not discriminate between Muslims and Christians. When the village of the Chief of Defense staff close to Mubi was attacked he did not rescue his fellow christian villagers but he airlifted his relatives out of danger and leaving his fellow Christians to be slaughtered by Boko Haram. The “polithievians,” “executhieves,” “legislooters” and “judishare” officers of Nigeria have only one religion that unites them and that religion is stealing and looting with impunity.
How many of the Pastors that are telling you to vote for Jonathan have children who are unemployed graduates sitting at home; bear the brunt of insecurity; send their children to public school; patronize government hospitals like you do or understand what the members of their religious organizations go through on a daily basis?
Did Bishop Oyedepo speak out when ASUU and ASUP were on strike twice in 4 years thereby leading to the loss of almost 2 years in the academic calender of Universities and Polytechnics?
Did Bishop Oyedepo speak out to condemn the manner in which the almost 300 Chibok girls were kidnapped? Did he condemn the manner in which the President refused to acknowledge that they were kidnapped? Did Bishop Oyedepo condemn the failure of the President to rescue the Chibok girls 9 months after they were kidnapped by the insurgents?
Did Bishop Oyedepo speak out when medical doctors went on strike twice in 4 years leading to the death of millions of Nigerians.
Has Bishop Oyedepo spoken out against the ongoing strike by health workers and judicial workers in Nigeria?
All these strikes have to do with the inability of President Jonathan and the PDP government to abide by industrial agreements signed after extensive bargaining among stake holders and their insensitivity to the plight of Nigerians.
Did Bishop Oyedepo speak out when 16>19, 5>26 and 7>19 in the Governors Forum election, Rivers state house of Assembly and Ekiti State House of Assembly in clear and reckless violation of the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria?
Has Bishop Oyedepo spoken out to condemn the legalized looting of billions of dollars of Nigeria’s money taking place under the watch of President Jonathan? Did Bishop Oyedepo speak out to condemn the beating up of a state High Court judge in Ekiti state by the Chief Thug of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose and his gang of thugs?
Did Bishop Oyedepo speak out to condemn the deliberate flouting of court orders by President Jonathan which has become like a recurring decimal in his administration?
Let Pastors like Bishop Oyedepo who don’t know what their members are going through or who are unable to feel the pulse of the masses, stick to what they know how to do best which is feeding Chist’s sheep as Christ commanded them, but let them stay out of politics. Bishop Oyedepo should not try to influence Christians to vote for a failed President like Jonathan. I urge all Christians to vote their conscience to free themselves from the 16 year bondage of the PDP led administration.
Section 95 (3) of the Electoral Act, states that “places designated for religious worship, police station and public offices shall not be used for political campaigns, rallies and processions or to promote, propagate or attack political parties, candidates, their political ideologies or programmes.”
Let my darling Bishop note that his actions on the pulpit violates this law and as a man of God the scripture expects him to obey the laws of the land. We are to give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.

Boko Haram Raids Monguno Barracks In Maiduguri

NAIJ- Reports just reaching us from Maiduguri, Borno State capital reveals that, members of the radical Islamist sect, Boko Haram has overwhelmed the 243 battalion of the Nigerian Army stationed at Monguno Barracks.
Sahara Reporters said a top military official confirmed that the extremist on Sunday killed an undetermined number of soldiers and wounded the brigade commander of the Brigade as well.
The military officer further revealed that soldiers who tried to repel the invading insurgents were killed, a situation that resulted to other soldiers fleeing to different directions. The source said no ewer than 1,400 soldiers were stationed at the barracks at the time of the attack, saying the Nigerian military authorities does not know the exact whereabouts or how many of them had been killed. “We still don’t know what has happened to them [soldiers], but we know that Boko Haram now controls the barracks and Monguno town,” one officer based in Abuja confirmed,” he said. Meanwhile, the Nigerian Defense Headquarters has hinted that the military was conducting air raids around the attacked barracks, explaining that soldiers needed to tactically withdraw from the town because of the injuries the brigade commander and others sustained in the attack. However, this recent information is contrary to the one earlier reported that Nigerian troops had overcome attacks on the barracks, but sources claim that the barrack had fallen into the hands of the terrorists. “They [Boko Haram] have gained full control of the barracks, together with all the weapons there,” a senior military source revealed on phone.
Another source within the military in a statement said the terrorists killed many soldiers and a huge number of civilians in Monguno town.
Monguno town which is about 85 miles from the state capital has reportedly been under attack since last night. It was gathered that Monguno and Maiduguri were sacked simultaneously but Nigerian troops succeeded in repelling the Islamist from Maiduguri after a fierce gun fight that lasted for several hours.
It was reported that the Nigerian troops were able to repel the terrorists attack as they allegedly killed no fewer than 100 Islamist fighters during the offensive.
It would be recalled that several people were reportedly killed as Boko Haram insurgents continued their attacks on communities in Adamawa State, especially those in Michika Local Government Area of the state.
Meanwhile, this recent attack is amazing as the insurgent group had earlier freed 200 kidnapped captives, who had returned to their community in Yobe state.

Pump Price Reduction(MY TAKE AWAY)- Gov. Fashola

It is no longer news that the Federal Government has announced a reduction in the pump price of premium motor spirit (PMS), popularly called petrol. While I have made my position known on my Twitter handle that ‘a little over 10% reduction in cost of the final (crude oil) product (PMS) in response to an over 50% drop in the cost of the raw material is a good try and that Nigerians can get a better deal’, I am constrained to make this further intervention for a few reasons.
1.There is a sense in the public space that this reduction is politically motivated, given the reactions that have followed it. To the extent therefore that there is a political nexus, it deserves further interrogation because it is an ECONOMIC issue and this is a major issue in the elections as canvassed by both parties, especially at the Presidential candidacy level.
General Buhari had seized the moment and the importance of the economic issue earlier this month. Through his campaign council he said: “Stop stealing from Nigerians and allow them enjoy the relief that has come to consumers of petroleum products globally.
“For the Nigerian consumers, unfortunately the collapse of crude oil price since October 2014 has not translated into any change in diesel, kerosene and PMS prices across the country.”
2. The second reason for my intervention is also economic, and it goes to interrogate POLICY, particularly this PRICING POLICY, and the consistency of the party in Government Vis-a-Vis their credibility before the Nigerian public.

THE ECONOMICS OF OIL
It must be obvious to any discerning mind that you cannot have a viable democracy without debating the management of the economy.
This is because the real issue in elections is the way people’s lives have fared during the tenure of the incumbent.
The question, sometimes spoken, sometimes not, but never forgotten, is this: – Has my life been better in the last few years or not?
This question always involves an examination of the record of service of the incumbent and many have lost their seats in a bad economy.
So, the present government must defend its record on the economy and this involves its management of prices and consumer indices.
The cost of energy, fuel, gas, electricity for transport, cooking, heating and manufacturing is a direct determinant of the cost of living and how far people’s wages can take them before the next pay day.
It is not therefore surprising that in the last decade and a half, many western countries have gone to war “in order to make peace”, especially in the Middle East, so that there is no scarcity of petroleum (crude oil) supply.
The reason is simple. Scarce crude means high prices of crude oil, translating to high fuel, gas and production costs, leading to restive domestic population, which can translate to electoral defeat.
If one remembers Iraq, Libya and Egypt; in spite of the democratic masks that those military interventions wore, it is difficult to dismiss a domestic, political (electoral) self interest in them.
In the aftermath of these interventions and investment in shale oil as an alternative, leading to the crash of crude oil prices, what have these western countries done at home for their people in terms of oil price management?
Let us look at a few examples:
i.U.K
Drop in Price (dollar per litre): 0.52
Percentage of price drop: 23.75%
ii. U.S.A
Drop in Price (dollar per litre): 0.39
Percentage of price drop: 36.57%
iii. SINGAPORE
Drop in Price (dollar per litre): 1.79
Percentage of price drop: 21%
v. NIGERIA
Drop in Price (dollar per litre): 0.03. Percentage of price drop: 10.3%
My take aways: a) It is poor economic management to import the final product of a commodity whose raw material (crude oil) we produce in abundance.
b) A refinery in Nigeria, such as the 400,000 barrel refinery we are supporting by providing land for the Dangote Group in the Lekki Free Zone will keep jobs at home, (instead of in foreign refineries), create income for the Nigerian Government by way of companies income tax, and give us better control of pricing by eliminating subsidies and demurrage charges by port delays paid to ship owners in dollars against a weak Naira; and it will eliminate many other charges that are passed on to ordinary Nigerians.
c) Clearly, an inefficient Port Management that escalates shipping costs, a devalued currency, and an exorbitant interest rate on borrowing, which are economic failures of the current Government, are part of the reasons why Nigeria cannot get a better deal from an over 50% drop in Crude Oil price.
Interrogation of policy
In announcing the reduction of fuel pump price, the Honourable Minister for Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, stated the reasons for the Government’s decision in her own words as follows:
“As you may be aware, there has been a lot of volatility in the price of petroleum products, particularly crude oil, over the last few months. Invariably, this has meant that the price of the product in Nigeria has also been greatly impacted.”
When addressing journalists she added: “After watching the price per barrel drop over the last few months, we have finally achieved parity… therefore this would be the best time to actually reduce the price. We have been watching very carefully over the last two weeks to ensure that the volatility did not destabilize this reduction in price and we think it’s safe to implement it at this time.”
Please note she used the words (1) “price per barrel drop” and (2) the “achieved parity” in the oil price regime to justify the reduction.
(i) Price Per Barrel Drop
As I have pointed out, I doubt that a 10% reduction is the best that we can get in response to a 50% drop in oil price, and this is simple common sense.
If a product is manufactured at X price and the price of the raw material drops by Y%, I think it is simple economics to reflect that Y% drop in the price of the final product without doing any damage to the cost of packaging or transporting the product. And this should happen vice versa if the price of the raw material heads in the opposite direction.
But let me be quick to acknowledge that these price changes may not necessarily be effected overnight in a period of volatility; and this is the relevance of the Honourable Minister’s point about “parity”, which I will come to later.
But the quick additional point to make is that Diesel has not enjoyed any subsidy for a long time and there is a loud silence on this product, as far as pricing policy is concerned; and nothing is said about Kerosene.
So, if this was really meant to bring relief to the people, I think Diesel, which impacts on production costs, power costs in homes through generators, and Kerosene, which ordinary Nigerians use to cook, would have been the place for Government to demonstrate that it understands the plight of the people.
This would have afforded some cushion against the austerity measures indicated by the Honourable Minister of Finance.
My take away
This price reduction is not far reaching enough. It demonstrates a knee-jerk reaction to a serious economic issue where the majority of ordinary Nigerians are concerned.
When we factor the fact that the majority of Nigerians generate their own power at 4 (four) times the cost of public power, and they mostly use diesel, a reduction there would have reduced the pressure on their disposable income.
Achieved Parity: My understanding of the Honourable Minister’s use of these words is that Government now believes that oil prices will hover around the current prices of $50 per barrel, so that, according to her, “the entire country will benefit immensely from this reduction.”
If this is correct, then who are we to believe?
If we go back to the statement of the Honourable Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, on December 17, 2014 when, while defending the oil budget benchmark of $65 for the 2015 budget which some observers felt was too ambitious, she said:
“This is what we have done by proposing a benchmark of $65pb. We recognise that prices might still fall further but we do not intend to revise the price further down as price intelligence indicates that prices might average between $65 and $70pb in 2015.”
If the Finance Minister expects oil prices to get to $70 and the Petroleum Minister says we have “achieved parity,” there seems to be inherent contradictions within the same Government.
My Take Aways:
a. Are Government departments talking to themselves?
b. Who is co-ordinating the economy?
c. Why was the Honourable Minister for Finance not part of this major Pricing Policy briefing?
d. Was this price reduction provided for in the 2015 budget?
P.S. As I concluded this intervention, my attention was brought to a response by Governor Peter Obi to a contribution I had made, in which he said in This Day Newspaper that: “The president showed that the sound economic policies of his government have brought about macro-economic stability. This has been acknowledged by the renowned economist and former Chairman of the Asset Management Division of Goldman Sachs Group, Dr. Jim O’Neill, who coined the term BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) and MINT (Mexico, Indonesia, Nigeria and Turkey), recognising these countries as the world’s fastest growing economies.”
Fastest growing economies
I have no issue with Governor Obi, because his role in Government and policy making is still unclear to me. If he speaks as a party man, it is a measure of credit to him that he knows more about the programmes of a party he joined a few weeks ago, than those he met there.
But for the record, the same Jim O’Neill, whom he quotes in support of this Government’s policy and the leadership of President Jonathan, said:
“If he (Jonathan) doesn’t get re-elected, and it’s because of Nigerian people wanting something different and something better, I think the markets would be happy with that. Foreign investors are pretty negative about Nigeria, so I don’t dismiss the possibility that if he lost, people actually might react positively.”
Those who seek the truth should simply visit this link and verify the facts of what Jim O’Neill actually said: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2015-01-08/o-neill-says-jonathan-vote-loss-may-be-seen-as-nigeria-positive.html
MY TAKE AWAY
I think Jim is right. Nigerians want “something different and something better.” They want CHANGE.

Revealing! Shocking News About Anal Sex!

Whether you love it, hate it, have tried it or have thought about it, anal sex seems to be less taboo these days. But a new British study found that young women aren’t always doing it for the right reasons. The research, published in the medical journal BMJ Open, attempted to collect information about when anaI sex occurs and the reasons why men and women engage in it.

Using a sample of 130 Heterosexual men and women from the cities and suburb of English, Scientists conducted Personal and Group interview to know more about their sexual practices. It resulted in differences of the male and female gender view of the abnormal practice.

While Men tend to enjoy it as a sign of pleasure and macho sexual achievement, women's views were entirely opposite as a way of physical pain and damaged reputation. The male wanted it as a act of mimicking Pornography while women see it as a way to please their partner!

Quite shocking is that both gender have mutual understanding that its a sign of domination, women will have to begged and forced into submission and if not by refusing they are seen as been uptight! Then the idea of if you try it, you will like it!

Unfortunately, many are so unaware that STIs can easily be transmitted through anal sex!
Chris Milrod, liscence sex therapist P.HD had this to say about pornography that it is not sex Education that most of the things being done are unrealistic and it should be something you are not forced to do!

The Key Knowlege on Bird flu as it hits Lagos and Kano.

Avian influenza — known informally as avian flu or bird flu — refers to "influenza caused by viruses adapted to birds. The version with the greatest concern is highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI).
"Bird flu" is a phrase similar to "swine flu," "dog flu," "horse flu," or "human flu" in that it refers to an illness caused by any of many different strains of influenza viruses that have adapted to a specific host. All known viruses that cause influenza in birds belong to the species influenza A virus. All subtypes (but not all strains of all subtypes) of influenza A virus are adapted to birds, which is why for many purposes avian flu virus is the influenza A virus. (Note, however, that the "A" does not stand for "avian").

Adaptation is not exclusive. Being adapted toward a particular species does not preclude adaptations, or partial adaptations, toward infecting different species. In this way, strains of influenza viruses are adapted to multiple species, though may be preferential toward a particular host. For example, viruses responsible for influenza pandemics are adapted to both humans and birds. Recent influenza research into the genes of the Spanish flu virus shows it to have genes adapted to both birds and humans, with more of its genes from birds than less deadly later pandemic strains.

While its most highly pathogenic strain (H5N1) had been spreading throughout Asia since 2003, avian influenza reached Europe in 2005, and the Middle East, as well as Africa, the following year. On January 22, 2012, China reported its second human death due to bird flu in a month following other fatalities in Vietnam and Cambodia.
Companion birds in captivity and parrots are highly unlikely to contract the virus, and there has been no report of a companion bird with avian influenza since 2003. Pigeons do not contract or spread the virus. 84% of affected bird populations are composed of chicken and farm birds, while the 15% is madeup of wild birds according to capture-and-release operations in the 2000s, during the SARs pandemic. The first deadly Canadian case was confirmed on January 3, 2014.

On December 2, 2014, two turkey farms in British Columbia, Canada, had been placed under quarantine after the Canadian Food Inspection Agency confirmed an avian flu outbreak.

Marriage of Charlie Boy@37: white pap from a black Pot.

Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charlie Boy, on Wednesday, said his 37-year-old marriage had been a blessing and lesson for others to learn. He said this at a rotary club of Asokoro District 9125 meeting held at Chelsea Hotel, Wuse 2, Abuja, presided over by its President, Rotarian Ogechukwu Ochuba. Oputa said he had been married for 37 years and still enjoying it.
He added that it was difficult to find a perfect partner for marriage, “but it is always better to tolerate and endure as nobody is perfect.
“I have been married for 37 years and I must say that, though it is not easy, I am still enjoying it.
“Marriage management requires tolerance, patience and endurance because it is very difficult to find a perfect partner for marriage.
“When a married partner sees the other as a subject or subordinate, then there is bound to be misunderstanding.’’
Charlie boy said longevity runs in his family as his grandfather lived up to 120 years, his father died at the age of 97 and that his mother is 94 years old and still alive.
He said he had quit alcohol, smoking and do not do drugs or abuse his body anymore, contrary to the perception of many persons in the society.
“I come from a family with history of long life.
“My grandfather died at that age of 120 years, my father died at the age 97 last year and my mother, who is still alive, is 94 years old now.
“I don’t abuse my body anymore; I don’t do casual sex, I have quit smoking, alcohol but I do a lot of exercise.
“I am 63 years old and have nine children and 14 grandchildren,” he stressed.
He further stated that “Charlie Boy is different from Charles Oputa and his practice of Buddhism has helped him have peace of mind and containment in life.
“I am a spiritual person and that is what made me stay grounded as a father and a husband. Through Buddhism, I have learnt to be contented.
“Charlie Boy does not come to my house, he doesn’t live with me. It is just a character.’’
He also revealed that though he and his late father never got along, he believed in freedom.
Oputa said God had blessed everyone with a talent and therefore parents should not force their children to follow certain lines in life contrary to their belief.
“God has given everybody something; you have to look for it. I am an advocate of allowing children to grow the way they want but with guidance so they do not lose track of what they want to be.
“I always want to do what I think it’s right and also add value to my environment,” he added.
Earlier, Rotarian Ochuba had appreciated Charlie Boy’s presence and expressed the hope that members of the Rotary Club had benefitted from the talk given by the 63-year-old grandfather. (NAN)

Jonathan, Obasanjo peace meeting, what went wrong.

THERE were indications last night that the elaborate meeting on Monday geared towards ending the frosty relationship between President Goodluck Jonathan and former President Olusegun Obasanjo ended in fiasco. Vanguard learnt from competent sources at the meeting that President Jonathan and other top leaders of the ruling People’s Democratic Party, PDP, who requested for the meeting with Obasanjo, felt disappointed with its outcome and may not push the idea of mending fences with the former leader again One of the sources, who was present at the meeting, told Vanguard that Obasanjo merely accepted to allow Jonathan and other PDP chieftains to visit him as a mark of respect to the office of the President and not to make peace with him. According to the source, Obasanjo deliberately requested two prominent clergymen to be present as witnesses at the meeting to prove the point that it is Jonathan who actually caused disaffection between them by reneging on previous decisions they jointly reached.
It was learned that but for the respect Obasanjo has for the office which he once held, he would not have accepted to  host Jonathan because of his recent provocative utterances against prominent Nigerian statesmen, including him (Obasanjo). The source said Obasanjo was irked by last Sunday’s statement in which Jonathan referred to  some  elder statesmen behaving as ‘motor park touts’, a classification, Obasanjo reportedly took in bad faith. The source said that at the meeting, Obasanjo opened up to those present and the two clergy men he had invited to ask Jonathan whether he had been honest with him and those he had assured he would run for a single term, if they supported him to win the last election. The source said: “It is true that Obasanjo invited the two clergymen to witness the meeting which he grudgingly accepted to host because of the respect he has for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He did not want to turn the president and his entourage down since they requested to see him in his house as part of their rally in the state. “But the truth of the matter is that Baba has not shifted grounds on any issue since he feels that Jonathan has not been fair to him by not adhering to any of the previous agreements reached with him. “What really irked Baba is the reference by Jonathan to some Nigerian elder statesmen as behaving as ‘motor park touts’ a day before begging him to grant him audience in Abeokuta. The man really feels insulted by such unfortunate outburst from the president of a country. “There was no need to enter into any peace deal with Jonathan because similar deals done in the past only resulted in more attacks by him and his aides on Baba only for them to come begging for forgiveness once it is close to election. Obasanjo and Jonathan with members of the party’s Board of Trustees, BoT, met for about three hours in Abeokuta on Monday with a view to settling the differences between the two leaders and to seek his support for the president’s re-election, next month. Obasanjo, who appears upset by the way Jonathan has so far run the country, has often taken to public fora to criticise him, including an open letter entitled “Before it is too late” and a critical book entitled “My Watch” which a court had barred from being circulated. -Vanguard

10 peculiar signs you serious need to avoid in Men!

Dating in general is not the easiest task on the planet no matter how easy it may seem. It takes the effort of both parties to make it worth the try. When it is not happening the way it is supposed to, things go wrong. The truth is, most of the time when we have issues when dating, the signs would have been there earlier but we chose to overlook it. This is because most people have the mentality that you can change the person over a period of time. This is wrong. These article is to give you an idea of the type of men to avoid before it gets too late.
1. The controlling kind: Sometimes, the controlling type of men might not be the best people to date. It may look all rosy at the beginning and you may try to overlook it, the signs that the guy you are dating might appear to be controlling or let’s use the word, power hungry. He always wants to be the one in charge of everything and not even wanting to give you a chance to voice your own opinions, then you might have to run from this one.
2. The anger management kind: I used anger-management because that is exactly what he needs to calm himself down and be slow to anger. Everyone knows how annoying women can be. We know that sometimes, it is best to let the woman win and just avoid any further arguments. Instead, he gets upset at every little thing you say. That relationship will not work because he has a million and one days to put up with you. If he can’t, let him step away and you move onto the next one.
3. The violent kind: Violence is the number one marriage wrecker. If he ever tries to throw something at you, let alone, hit you, then he is violent. Do not be deceived that he was overwhelmed with anger. No reasonable person wants to hurt their loved ones. Especially for the ladies who think their man hits them because he loves them, well one day, he will kill you so run. Run as fast as you can before it’s too late.
4. The nagging kind: There are so many men who nag and it’s very unattractive. Ladies, kindly avoid this type of men.
5. The malicious kind: Men in general are not supposed to have this trait. This is another unattractive trait that men should never display. If your man keeps malice with you, then I do not understand why he is still in your life.
6. The negative kind: This type are very bad for our health. You do not want anyone who has only negative comments about things all the time. It is never about the positive things that he can do. You have this great business idea and you are so excited to tell him but all he does it asks you what happens if it doesn’t work. Always negative. Anytime he does this, ask yourself why the other person who did it succeeded, afterall, the individual does not have two heads. Say bye to every form of negativity in your life.
7. The demeaning kind: This type always bring you down in everything. They always make you feel like you are not good enough. Nothing is ever good enough for him. This is called emotional violence. It is even worse than physical violence because it makes you feel worthless. If you think these traits are present in your man, dump him to look for his kind.
8. The vain kind: Now, these type of men are more concerned about how they look and what people think about them. They would outshine you when both of you are attending an event together. A regular guy would want the woman to be beautiful not really keeping in mind how he might look. Don’t get it twisted; he would look nice too but these are the selfish kinds who put themselves first before you. You don’t really want to end up with this type of person.
9. The flirtatious kind: These are the types that love to flirt with other women not paying mind if you are present or not. They always love to be around the ladies and can also be described as the ladies’ man. A man should have eyes for just his girl when she is there. It is disrespectful flirting with other ladies in the presence of your girlfriend. These ones are up to no good. Just walk away!
10. The mama’s boys: There is nothing more unattractive than a man who runs to his mother at every little thing that happens to them. These ones cannot take decisions by himself. He is obviously not independent. If you end up with these ones, their moms would be the people dictating your relationship.
Although no one is perfect and there is no rule book in relationships, but these are a few things you might want to avoid before it’s too late.

Happy Reunion? As President Jonathan meets with Fmr President Obasanjo!

ABEOKUTA – HIDE and seek! That aptly captures the processes that led to a closed-door meeting between President Goodluck Jonathan and former President Olusegun Obasanjo, yesterday, in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
A top supporter of Jonathan told Vanguard at about 8.30 p.m, yesterday, that “the meeting is holding now” and declined further comments.
An unconfirmed report last night stated that the General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye and the Founder, Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, were part of the meeting, which began at 7 p.m, last night.
The presence of the religious leaders as witnesses, sources said, was part of the conditions Obasanjo gave to hold any talk with President Jonathan.
The media was awash with expectation and anxiety over what the outcome of the two leaders’ meeting would be. Obasanjo, recently came down hard on Jonathan accusing his administration of squandering $55 billion crude oil savings and reserves. Jonathan had in turn promised to expose what former leaders and heads of state failed to do while in office that stunted the country’s socio-economic growth. He later added that some leaders were behaving like motor park touts, a comment that was perceived to be aimed at Obasanjo.

However, Obasanjo attended President Jonathan’s niece’s wedding in Abuja, weekend, and was well received as he had warm handshakes with President Jonathan and his wife, Dame Patience Jonathan.
Thus, it was not surprising that the speculated Abeokuta meeting raised hairs. At press time, yesterday, there were different reasons the meeting could not hold during the day. One account said the meeting could not be held in the afternoon because President Jonathan snubbed Obasanjo. Another account said the former president avoided the president by leaving his house where the meeting would have been held on hearing that Jonathan had arrived in Abeokuta.
The hide and seek game
Indeed, the former President left his palatial Hilltop building in Abeokuta, immediately Jonathan arrived the state capital.
Obasanjo who was driven out in his black SUV and one security Hilux van, shunned his main entrance and made use of his private gate.
Vanguard was at Obasanjo’s house to cover the expected meeting between the two leaders and observed that some security personnel who had been detailed at the former President’s house suddenly disappeared.
A source close to Obasanjo’s Hilltop mansion in Abeokuta had earlier confided in Vanguard that President Jonathan was not in Obasanjo’s itinerary for the day.
He also hinted that Obasanjo jetted out around 2: 59 p.m few minutes after the helicopter that flew the President to the state, touched down.
Operatives of the Department of State Service (DSS) who had earlier besieged Obasanjo’s Hilltop mansion as early as 6a.m in anticipation of President Jonathan’s arrival also left the place at exactly 3.10p.m when it became obvious that Jonathan was not coming.
Jonathan, however, arrived at the M.K.O Stadium in Abeokuta at exactly 3.50p.m and headed straight to the state box from where he later moved out to acknowledge cheers from the crowd who had thronged the stadium venue of the campaign as early as 7. 30a.m.
Asked why President Jonathan ‘dodged’ Obasanjo and refused to visit him despite being in Abeokua, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Dr Doyin Okupe, said: “Dodge Obasanjo? How? The president just left the stadium now and he is in the presidential lodge in Abeokuta, resting.”
The meeting, last night, however ended at 9.53 pm without official statement from both parties.
Jonathan woos Ogun voters
At the Abeokuta rally, President Jonathan promised to create additional eight million jobs for Nigerian youths in the next four years, if re-elected.
While referring to Gen. Mohammadu’s Buhari’s assertion that if elected, he would ensure that all guilty corrupt persons are jailed, Jonathan said: “It is my prayer that a time will come in Nigeria that there will be no single prison in the country.”
He then told his audience: “You have a choice to vote for those who will build more prisons for you or my administration which will build more schools for you.”
Schools and Wealth creation
He said his administration was already working with eminent Nigerians in private sector to make the mission a reality, saying that the party was out to fight poverty through wealth and job creation.
The president said that the Federal Government had set up a technical committee to that effect which was headed by Vice-President Namadi Sambo to work the modalities for the creation of at least two million jobs every year. He explained that the Federal Government was also working with Tony Elumelu, Chairman UBA and other investors from the private sector in order to achieve the goal.
He said: “We are out to create jobs, our target is to create not less than two million jobs every year. We are working with the private sector. Tony Elumelu is part of them and when we are talking about Elumelu, you know we are talking about a serious investor.”
While explaining that PDP had changed the face of Agriculture in the country, President Jonathan declared that the PDP-led Federal Government would integrate Commercial Agriculture into the Secondary schools’ curriculum to create wealth, more jobs and to reduce the country’s balance of payment deficit on imported foods.
We’ll win war against terrorism, says Jonathan at Mapo Hall
Meanwhile, President Jonathan has said his commitment and method of tackling corruption was not dependent on the number of people his administration tries or jails.
Though, he said his government has tried many Nigerians to show that it did not support corruption, he said the number of people tried on corruption-related offences would never stem the tide of the hydra-headed problem.
He said this at the ancient Mapo Hall, Ibadan, venue of his campaign rally, yesterday.
According to him: “If I try 10 million Nigerians and jail 5 million, that does not stop corruption problem. Let me re-assure Nigerians that we will win war against terror. My commitment and method of solving corruption is not in terms of the number of people I try or jail.”
President Jonathan, who used the forum to reel out the achievements of his administration, noted that his government had empowered over one million people through its various intervention programmes.
Other achievements, he said, include ongoing reconstruction of Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, power projects, Ibadan Airport renovation, Ibadan-Lagos-Kano railway line rehabilitation, among other empowerment projects cited in Oyo State.
This came just as the president urged Nigerian women to vote him in for another four years to liberate themselves or risk being restricted to the kitchen by the opposition.
